Riaz: Saudi Aviation Authority have imposed a fine of Saudi riyal 10,000 on the Pakistan International Airlines for delay flights, according to the sources two flights took off from Jeddah and Riaz did not depart on schedule time from airport . While the bound flight from Islamabad to Saudi Arabia was took off late with the delay of seven hours.
However Saudi Aviation Authority fined 10,000 riyals on PIA flights for unusual delays. It is to remember that PIA is the defaulter of Saudi Civil Association on which the Saudi Arabia had threatened to shut flights last time. As a final warning to the Pakistan International Airlines, Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation sent a notification to PIA regarding non-payment of dues worth millions of rupees. According to the notification, PIA flights had to be stopped from April 17 if the dues were not paid.
On the other hand, in the case of installments, it is permitted to continue operation on the first installment payment. PIA has been suffering losses worth billions since many years and its collected dues have been on the rise. The national airline had noted increasing losses of Rs141 billion from 2002 to 2012. The PIA had also suffered financial losses of Rs401 million in Hajj operations 2012.
It is pertinent to mention that
[junkie-alert style=”white”] Saudi authorities had been very severe from the start of last Umrah season and had communicated to PIA that postponements other than technical will be subjected to fine. [/junkie-alert]
Unluckily for PIA, they picked PK 743/4 Karachi-Madina-Karachi flight which they found was delayed not because of technical reasons but due to non-availability of airplanes.
