LONDON: A British newspaper has written that Saudi Arabia will emphasize on Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to help Saudi Arabia to strengthen the defence of Riyadh against ISIS, adding that Saudi Arabia will further ask Pakistan for increasing its forces in Saudi Arabia in order to deal with the challenges of religious militants including ISIS. It is not clear how many Pakistan soldiers or forces are there in Saudi Arabia but they are not too many.
Analysts have said that Islamabad is careful about expanding its security relationships with Riyadh and it cannot refuse to Saudi Arabia in any case. Western diplomats have said that the security concerns have increased in Riyadh after the Houthi insurgents have occupied Yemen. The analysts have warned that Pakistan needs men power in order to cope with the challenges of its security.
Ikram Sehgal has said that due to the nature of the relationships between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Pakistan cannot refuse Saudi Arabia in any case however, the request of Saudi Arabia can somewhat be fulfilled. According to the paper, Nawaz Sharif is in Saudi Arabia for meeting with Saudi Shah and it is the third visit of Nawaz to Saudi Arabia this year that expresses the serious challenges faced by bilateral relationships.
