ISLAMABAD: Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan will be new Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan. According to sources, the members of parliamentary committee have agreed on the appointment of Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan as the new Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan. The session of the parliamentary committee led by Senator Rafique Rajwana is going on in Islamabad. The committee consists of 12 members including Muslim League (N), Peoples Party, MQM, ANP, PTI and others.
However, Sheheryar Afridi from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has not joined the session. The session considered all the three names, suggested for the appointment of new Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan i.e. Justice retired Tariq Pervez, Justice retired Tanvir Ahmed Khan and Justice retired Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan. However, the committee agreed on the name of Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan as new Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that Justice retired Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan belongs to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He has been the judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan as well. However, he has been performing his duties as the judge of Federal Shariat Court.
