New York: Samsung Galaxy S5 just came before four days ago but the first failure has occurred initially. German security expert has hacked the most awaited handset of the year cell phone’s “fingerprint scanner”. German investigators were working on that they can hacked the “fingerprint scanner “of Samsung Galaxy S5 or not, but somehow they found success in their mission even in the fourth day of release.
Researchers were successful to deceive scanner through the mold of the fingerprint. This type of error was also occurred in the scanner of Apple iPhone, which was released last year. Investigators have to spend only 150 pounds (25 thousand rupees) and they found to break the fingerprint scanner. However Samsung still did not react in this regard.
With an integrated fingerprint scanner and rear-mounted heart rate monitor, the Samsung Galaxy S5 specs sheet is further bolstered by a 16-megapixel rear-mounted camera and 2-megapixel forward-facing snapper. The phone has launched in four color schemes, black, white, blue and gold.
SRL formed its hack by lifting a real fingerprint from a smartphone screen and then carrying out equally elaborate process to create a mold out of glue and graphite spray. This was then swiped across the sensor that sits in the phone’s home button.
“It was the first one I tried and it worked immediately on the S5”, project manager Ben Schlabs said. Although the fake fingerprint proved easy to use, Mr Schlabs added that he was concerned that Samsung’s software would not lock out thieves who had less luck, allowing them to make repeated attempts.
