Karachi: President Pak Japan Culture Association Sadia Rashid has stated that Pakistan and Japan share a cultural and social harmony due to the age old ties between the two countries. She said this was the aim of the 3 day Japan festival being conducted from 7th to 9th March, to strengthen this cultural relationship.
Speaking at a press conference at a local hotel in Karachi, she said that her organization was working to promote Japanese culture and create awareness among the people of Pakistan through the festival. She said that cultural ties promote peace and love among the people. The festival will include a children’s poster competition based on the theme of peace, an Iki Bana exhibition, and a Judo Karate competition between students from both the countries. There will also be a Japanese food festival at the occasion.
Alongside Ms Sadia Rashid was the Counselor of cultural and public affairs from the Japanese Consulate, Mr. Hiroko Tsuchiya who said that these programs were important in building ties between the Pakistani and Japanese public an reinforcing the 60 year old ties between the countries.
The general secretary of Pakistan Japan Culture Association Sindh, Mr. Mohammad Azmat Ataka was also present along with coordinator Pervaiz Iqbal. Mr.Ataka assured that this festival had the full support of the Japanese Consulate.
