Karachi: Quaid-e-Millat memorial committee observed the 22nd death anniversary of Begum Rana Liaquat Ali Khan on Wednesday (13th June, 2012). She was the second wife of the first Prime Minister of Pakistan Liaquat Ali Khan she also hold the honor of being the first lady of Pakistan as well as the first women Governor of Sindh and the first women vice Chancellor of University of Karachi.
She had played a great role in the independence of Pakistan. She was the trusted partner of the former Pakistan Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. She was also given the honorary rank of one star Brigadier General by the Pakistan military. She was also known as the mother of Pakistan. She died on 13th June, 1990 by the cardiac attack.
While she was given many ranks and medals by the other countries in order to pay tribute to her services.
