Lahore: After the scandal of dog and donkey meat, another Haram meat scandal has shocked the people. According to the media reports, a team of Punjab Food Authority raided near Lahore Railway Station and recovered large amount of pig meat. According to the Director Operations of Punjab Food Authority Ayesha Mumtaz, they have raided after receiving complaint regarding selling of pig meat in Nolakha area.
Ayesha Mumtaz revealed that around 120 kg pig meat had been brought from Rawalpindi and supplied in the markets. The authority has seized pig meat and sends its sample for the test in laboratory. While talking to the media, she said that the suspected pork meat had been supplied to popular food chains and it is also reported that its fats were also being used in the ice cream flavours.
One suspect is also arrested from the spot and the authority is doing its best to reach the whole network. Punjab Food Authority has also started further investigations on this case and is hoping that all such type criminals will be dealt strictly according to the law.
On the other hand, people have demanded to hang all the suspects which are involved in this scandal and the Government should take some serious steps to stop selling Haram meat in the country.
