LONDON: The chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should take care of martyrs’ monument and hold a public meeting freely in Jinnah Ground. Altaf Hussain in a statement issued from London has said that I have been shocked seriously by the incident took place yesterday between the leaders of PTI, their workers and the residents of the constituency NA 246.
Altaf Hussain said that he did not want to accuse anybody for this incident because I had a good intention and I needed peaceful and fair elections. He added that rhetorical confrontation and criticism in democracy and between two national parties was usual and continued but both or more parties should not turn their differences towards enmity.
He said that such a situation should not be made as if two rivals were fighting against each other or the nation of two different countries were fighting. Altaf Hussain asked if PTI and the whole country did not know that 20 thousands martyrs monuments were there in Jinnah Ground Azizabad and thousands of people prayed for the martyrs there.
He stated if Tehreek-e-Insaf held its public meeting at any other place instead of Jinnah Ground, MQM then would do whatever it could in order to cooperate with PTI. But, if PTI was bent on holding the public gathering at Jinnah Ground, let MQM be given then to make arrangements for the security of martyrs monuments in Jinnah Ground.
