There was news that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has invited application from all those people who want party tickets for the upcoming elections. Application form is also available on PML-N official website.
All those people who will apply for party ticket have to pay following fees for tickets:
- Rs. 50,000 for a National Assembly ticket
- Rs. 30,000 for a provincial assembly seat
- Rs.100,000 for a reserved seat (for women and minorities) in National Assembly
- Rs. 75,000 for a reserved seat (for women and minorities) in the provincial assembly
It looks strange that why PML-N is taking fees from people when their senior leaders shouts on every occasion that PML-N is party for poor people’s and it will change the fate of people of Pakistan.
If a man who is earning Rs. 5000-6000 per month how can he this big amount as fees? Recently in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) intra-elections a tailor from Kohat became the president of PTI Kohat. If now he wants to contest elections and PTI also fix fees for party ticket than how will this tailor be able to pay the fees? PML-N is a big party and I am sure that daily wages workers who support PML-N also wants to contest elections but because of this fees they will not be able to get even into the consideration for party ticket.
If PML-N will take the fees for party ticket than what PTI leaders says about PML-N that they are part of status quo will prove to be correct. PML-N leadership should look into this matter.
