Advocate Supreme Court Azhar Siddiqui has filed a petition in Supreme Court to block all those websites are related to porn. Previously Azhar Siddiqui filed a case in Lahore High Court against Facebook for publishing Blasphemous content and the largest social networking website facebook was blocked in Pakistan for more than 1o days.
Mr. Azhar Siddiqui said that Islamic Countries including Saudi Arab, Iran, Egypt, Indonesia, and Morocco have blocked these websites and several porn websites have also been blocked in China. He further said that according to the 1973‘s constitution Islam was declared as the Religion of Pakistan, therefore, following Islamic Laws porn should be completely blocked and prohibited in Pakistan.
In his petition, Azhar Siddiqui has also pointed towards the article of senior investigative reporter Ansar Abbasi.
In Ansar Abbasi article, the writer has written about the 15 year old child who has written letter to IT Ministry and PTA for blocking these objectionable websites but after no response from them. Ghazi Mohammad Abdullah who studies in 9th class has now written letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan.
In addition, Lahore High Court has also given notices to ISPs and Ministry of Religious Affairs Pakistan to respond to another Petition filed against the accessibility of Porn websites in Pakistan, by Pakistani citizen Mr. Sohaib Ahmed.
Our Correspondent adds his views:
It is to be mentioned here that Sri Lanka has also blocked porn websites.
It will be great if these porn/sexy/nude/vulgar websites are blocked. All those websites which have objectionable adult materials should be blocked. All the blue films, sexy movie, nude movies should also be banned in the country. All those movies which have porn contents should also be banned.
All Pakistan channels should be given notices to not to show vulgar and nudity in their programs.
If all the above recommendations are implemented than it will be very good for youngsters in the long term. Many youth of our country are exploited by these objectionable materials and are not able to focus.
It is hoped that Supreme Court will advice Government, IT Ministry, PTA and all the concerned authorities for blocking of these porn websites which are taking our youth on a wrong path.
