Pakistani Teenager Asifa Aslam created a new example in the history of bravery and courage and made her family and country proud. This happened 300 kilometres from France’s capital Paris in the city of Chateauroux when Asifa helped rescue her family members and neighbours from a building engulfed in flames.
15 year old Asifa belongs to the town of Boriwala Pakistan and lives with her family in France. A few days past late at night, a fire suddenly erupted in their residential flat. Asifa acted quickly and pulled her little brothers and sisters out of the flat safely. Not only this she alerted her neighbors and the rest of the buildings residents, and called the emergency rescue teams and fire brigade. Serious loss was avoided this way and the families were able to escape unharmed.
The local police department, rescue agencies and municipal committees took notice of the young girl’s bravery and awarded her honorary shields and certificates and praised her courage. Pakistani ambassador to France Ghalib Iqbal invited Asifa and her family to a ceremony where he paid tribute to Asifa and her parents.
He awarded Asifa with the Jinnah award and said that courageous and selfless people like her were responsible for bringing honor to the Pakistani people.
