Karachi: Addressing Jamat-ud-Dawah’s “Takbeer” convention in Karachi, leaders of various religious and political parties expressed their conviction to work collectively in guaranteeing safety of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal as it is an asset and icon of hope for Muslims worldwide. They claimed that USA, India and Israel are more afraid of the unity amongst Muslims than anything else. PM Nawaz Sharif must bring up the issue of Nehru-Liaqat agreement, take steps to solve Kashmir issue, Babri Masjid, and uphold the rights of Indian Muslims.
Prof. Hafiz Saeed, head of JuD, said that separatist movements in Pakistan are meant to repeat history of separation of East Pakistan. Other leaders and representatives including Shah Awais Norani of Jamiat Ulema e Pakistan, Syed Hafeez ud Din of PTI, and Asadullah Bhutto of Jamat-e-Islami were also present and gave speeches to thousands of participants in the convention.
Prof. Hafiz Saeed further said that the people of Pakistan will never want to lose the trust of Kashmiri people, merely to please the Indian government. PM Nawaz must learn from the mistakes of previous government. The aggression and conspiracies of India in the past must not be forgotten including violation of the international border of East Pakistan. However, UN and USA did not object to Indian crimes at the time. Pakistan became a nuclear power after resisting international pressure and threats. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s decisive targets were finally fulfilled practically during Nawaz Sharif’s era. He said that courageous stance needs to be adopted by PM Nawaz Sharif once again.
After the arrival of USA in South Asia, India has worked closely with USA in Afghanistan in conspiring attacks in Pakistan through separatist movements, in addition to dam-construction on Pakistani rivers.
He also asserted that Narendra Modi is a RSS-trained Hindu extremist that aspires to form “Akhand Bharat” or Greater India. Instead of focusing on friendship and trade with India, Pakistani political leadership should work closely with Saudi Arabia, Turkey and other Islamic countries to form an Islamic Bloc. Shah Awais Norani of JUP said that Pakistan was founded after thousands of lives were sacrificed and MFN status must not be given to India at any cost. Prof. Abdur Rahman Makki of JuD said that Pakistan is an ideological state founded upon Islam and it stands distinguished in front of international community as an icon of hope for the Muslim world.
However, BJP’s exploitative policies against Indian Muslims and lack of Muslim representation in the elected government from Muslim majority areas are a proof of India’s real face. Asadullah Bhutto of Jamat-e-Islami said that international powers have always criticized Pakistan’s “Islamic” bomb, but never highlighted the extremist face of Jews and their aggression as regards to nuclear technology. Similarly, other speakers also motivated PM Nawaz Sharif to be dignified and guarantee the protection of Muslims in front of India.
