A Twenty20 match has been organized between the teams of Pakistan A and Hamza Shahbaz XI at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in order to raise funds for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) today. Top cricket players will be participating in the match that will collect funds for the IDPs of North Waziristan. Already an amount of 20 million rupees has been collected.
Hanif Abbasi, former Member of National Assembly (MNA) of ruling party PML-N informed the media that the business community, donors and members of the national Assembly and Provincial Assembly had contributed generously for the cause. Tariq Chaudhry and Anjum Aqeel had donated 1 million rupees each for the IDPs. The players in the match were charging nothing for the match.
Pakistan ‘A’ was based on Sharjeel Khan, Sami Aslam, Babar Azam, Nasir Jamshed, Faisal Iqbal, Haris Sohail, Sohaib Maqsood, Fawad Alam, Anwar Ali, Bilawal Bhatti, Raza Hassan, Mohammad Sami, Ehsan Adil, Yasir Shah and Imran Khan, while Humza Shahbaz IX team was based on Hamza Shahbaz, Shoaib Akhtar, Younas Khan , Umar Amin, Adnan Akmal, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, Ali Sarfaraz, Imran Khan, Afaq Raheem, Haider Ali, Atif Ashraf, Raza Hasan and Sajid Zafar Dall.
Initially, the match was supposed to be between the political rivals Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif, but the match was postponed due to some maintenance works at the Gaddafi stadium. This match was arranged by the cricket star Shahid Khan Afridi.
