Karachi: Following a 3-2 goal victory by Pakistan against South Korea in London Olympics 2012 hockey competition, National Hockey team has qualified for the upcoming Champions Trophy tournament in Australia and it has also received an official invitation for participation in the mega event.
The International Hockey Federation (IHF) has also informed the top management of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) about the advancements, local news channel reported on Friday.
While talking to media, Coach Pakistan hockey team Akhtar Rasool said that winning against South Korean and securing seventh position in Olympics-2012 paved way for participation in the Champions Trophy.
It is to mention here that Champions Trophy will be played in Melbourne, Australian from December 1 and would last till December 9.
Along with Pakistan, defending champions Australia, England, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, India, and New Zealand will also participate in the tournament.
