Lahore: Nobody knows what Hillary Clinton whispered into Hina Khar’s ear but this has led to the surrender of the entire nation before the US, Jamaat e Islami Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, said here on Thursday. “Just as the NATO supplies are a matter of life and death for the US and the NATO, this has become an issue of Pakistan’s existence and survival”, he said, while addressing the participants of the JI workshop at Mansoora.
Liaqat Baloch said that the whole nation supported closure of the supplies and only the rulers were giving preference to the US interest. He said that the way the US said “Sorry” to Islamabad, was an indication that it was more of a pardon for the Zardari government than an apology.
Even if the government claim be accepted, this small word was no price for the 24 soldiers martyred at Salala, he added. He said only the nations imbued with courage and valour could survive. But the people ruling the country had opted the path of cowardice and they were imparting the same lesson to the masses.
Liaqat Baloch said after Islamabad’s boycott of the Bonn conference, the US had been engaged in a war of nerves with this country to get the supplies restored. In fact, the US which had lost the Afghan war, but was now dreaming of winning the same once again.
