Pakistan cricket team lost all the matches in ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan was easily beaten by West Indies, South Africa and arch-rivals India. In all the three matches Pakistan batting failed miserably.
The squad for the ICC Champions Trophy looks unblanaced as only one attacking bowler Saeed Ajmal was in the team whereas there was no other bowler who could attack. Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan, Wahab Riaz are not experienced and they failed to attack the batsmen.
No batsmen other than captain Misbah-ul-haq scored runs. Pakistani openers also failed to put on runs at score board. Imran Fahrhat, Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal have failed to perform in the many matches but still selectors choose them in the team for unknown reasons.
Shahid Afridi could have been a good choice in the team as in England leg-break bowlers are very useful. Shane Warna record in England says it all. It is true that Afridi last few months performance was not up to the mark but if selectors can select Imran Farhat, Shoiab Malik than Shahid Afridi can also be selected.
It would have been better if ICC, the governing body of the game, would have only played this Champions Trophy with top six teams. There are around 10 Test playing nations (including Zimbabwe) therefore this Champions Trophy does not look of champions as bottom placed teams were also playing like Pakistan.
