Pakistani girl Shahida Abbas is breaking the taboo and has become one of the martial art stars in Pakistan after becoming South Asia Champion.
Martial art is very popular among the Hazara community of Quetta from where Shahid Abbas belongs to. Kulsoom Hazara was the first female to represent Pakistan in karate and she was also from Quetta.
These two girls are not the only one capable of winning international titles, there are thousands of girls who can perform better if government improves the facilities and helps them to become better.
Karate is neglected at state level in Pakistan. In our country karate & martial arts are still in their introductory phase, though nowadays many schools have opted for Taekwondo but still the journey is long.
Even in this early phase, with little or no support from government girls like Shahida Abbas & Kulsoom Hazara are making the nation proud.
