Karachi: Pakistan Hockey team clinched the seventh position in the London Olympics 2012 hockey competition after beating South Korea by a score of three goals to two in the 7/8 spot play-off played today at Riverbank Arena.
Pakistan from the beginning of the match looked in control and good shape with several shots by the forwars line blocked by South Korean goal keeper.
However, Korea scored the first goal of the match at 29:03′ HYUN Hye Sung. After which Pakistan made sharp palyer in and player out and just after exactly a minute at 30:04′ Muhammad WAQAS scored an outstanding goal equalling the score with 1-1.
HYUN Hye Sung of Korea score the second goal for his team at 32:39′ and the score till the end of the first half remained 1-2. With the resumption of second half, Pakistan attacked the ground, scoring their second goal by Abdul Haseem Khan at 43:18′. Pakistan scored the last goal at seven minuted before the conclusion of the match and bagged the seventh spot.
