Pakistan cricket team bowling coach and former fast bowler Mohammad Akram stated that Pakistan’s bowling attack was strong. Mohammad Akram revealed an astonishing fact while talking to reporters during a training camp at Gaddafi stadium in Lahore. He said that the Pakistani Bowlers had bowled 2200 overs in the test and one day matches since the last 1.5 years, which included only 4 no balls, making a world record.
He further added that similar to the prominent teams of the world, Pakistan also worked on a pre-planned strategy, but the players had to give a good performance on the playground as well.
He also expressed that all the teams participating in the Asian Cup will prove to be good competitors. In fact, the Afghanistan team should also not be taken as a light opponent, looking at the exceptional performance that they have been rendering in the last tournaments.
He felt fortunate to be the current bowling coach in the presence of exceptional spin bowlers in the Pakistani team and said that the fast bowlers had also lived up to their expectations in the last matches. He said that cricket matches were a constant source of injuries for players. Mohammad Iran was specifically prone to injuries owing to his height and built. The return of Umar Gul will also benefit the team with his performance getting better.
