Pakistan defeated Ireland in second One Day International (ODI) by two wickets which was played at Dublin today. Pakistan after winning the toss elected to field first. Ireland scored 229/9 in allotted 50 overs. Ed Joyce who has represent England also scored unbeaten 116 runs with the help of 12 fours and one six.
Kevin O’Brien scored 38 runs off 48 balls. Kevin was adjudge Man-of-the-Match in first ODI after he hit four on the last ball of Saeed Ajmal’s over to tie the match. Kevin’s brother Niall O’Brien also scored 29 runs. Left arm spinner Abdur Rehman picked four wickets whereas Junaid Khan bagged two wickets.
In reply Pakistan was in trouble from start as they collapsed to 17/4 after that captain Misbah and Shoaib Malik put on some runs on the board. However Misbah was out when he was on 24. Malik scored 43 runs. Wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal played a match winning innings of 81 (11 4’s and 2 6’s) and Wahab Riaz scored unbeaten 47 runs with four sixes and four 4’s.
