The Pakistan Air Line Pilots’ Association (PALPA) is a professional body that works to facilitate the permanently employed pilots in the national airline. It is comprised of serving and retired airline pilots and works to ensure the rights of pilots working in all airlines in Pakistan and develop a unity among the pilots to provide a safe and efficient mode of air travel within the country.
PALPA was formed in 1954 employed pilots in the National Airline. It was formed in 1954 and is the member of International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Association (IFALPA) and ITF. PALPA includes 430 members consisting of current and retired pilots and are represented by an executive committee elected by the members consisting of 12 members from the serving pilots and 2 from the retired pilots. The PALPA staff are provided medical insurance and are included in the Employees Old Age Benefit scheme.
PALPA headquarters are located in Karachi in the area of Kehkashan Clifton and contain recreational facilities for its members and their families. It contains facilities similar to clubs and hosts events such as conferences and get togethers for the members. The PALPA premises are entirely managed by the executive committee with funds deducted monthly from the members.
