Islamabad: The scheduled talks between US and Pakistani military chiefs comes to a halt this week as it got postponed due to the protests going across the country against the Anti-Islam film produced in America. The proposed visit to Pakistan was called off due to the same reason, the top-ranking US officer, General Martin Dempsey, said Thursday.
While speaking at the news conference, United States (US) Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey said he has called off the visit on mutual agreement as Pakistan COAS, General Ashfaq Kayani, too agreed to call off the talks amid unrest on the streets of Pakistani cities.
US General, Dempsey said he has extended an unannounced visit to Afghanistan where he is going to visit the southern provinces of Helmand and Kandahar.
