Lahore: Pakistan amplifies its history of creating world records at the International level as it now books yet another world record with as many as 24,000 students and athletes including 60,000 audiences sang National Anthem together at the National Hockey Stadium Saturday night. The record was created at the opening ceremony of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012 main round, where students, athletes as well as audience made a successful attempt to create a world record of singing the Pakistan national anthem during the event.
An official of the Guinness World Records watched the expected record-breaking number of athletes, volunteers, students and guests. The athletes also marched past and a torch was also lightened after a rally. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif declared the opening of the grand event.
It is to mention here that on Thursday night, a complete dress rehearsal of the opening ceremony was held at the venue where the organizers expressed confirmation to create world record.
According to Guinness Book representative there were 42,813 participants who took part in this record.
