CHINIOT: Over 100 rural areas of Chiniot in Punjab are under risk with the coming flood of river Chenab whereas over 300 villages of Sargodha and over 100 of Jhang have been affected with the recent rains and flood. Hundreds of residents in Hafizabad have been stuck into flood.
The soldiers from Pakistan Army have been busy in evacuating the rain-affected people by using helicopters and boats. 8 lacs and 42 thousands cusecs of flood has been going through the river Chenab at Chiniot. Over 100 villages of district Chiniot, Bhawana and Lalyan have not been in contact with cities due to flood while many people have been stuck into rain and flood-hit areas.
The flood is passing on the road in Jamia abad on Jhang Road and near Ahmed Nigar on Sargodha Road. Dams have been broken in the areas of Haji Usman, Kalri Shaikhan and Pathankot and the water is entering the areas fast whereas the residents of the areas are busy in migrating to the safer places. Various people are compelled to take shelters on their houses’ roofs due to short of resources. The soldiers of Pakistan Army have continued rescue operation by using helicopters and boats and evacuating the affected people and shifting them to safer areas.
