Karachi: Young Pakistani athlete Rabia Ashiq is all good and ready to show her talent in the London Olympics 2012 in Women’s 800 meter race scheduled on August 8.
Rabia Ashiq, 20, represents Water and Power Development Authority [WAPDA] and Lahore team at the National level. She also competed in cycling at the 2007 National Games, showing her multiple talent and skills in the athletic games.
The female is also being supported by Zong, the multi National cellular company as it is seen in the advertisements being telecasted these days on the TV Channels.
Rabia will be competing by 19-year-old Saudian athlete Sarah Attar along with others. Sarah is going to represent Saudi Arabia for the first time in the Olympics history. She will wear sports Hijab and a head scarf during the race as it is demanded by the Saudi authorities.
Meanwhile, female Saudi Arabian judo athlete Wojdan Ali Seraj Abdulrahim Shaherkani has shown signs of withdrawal from the London Olympics 2012 if she is not permitted to wear Hijab or headscarf during the contest.
