Nadeem Farooq Paracha is a well known journalist of Pakistan. He is a left liberal journalist, cultural critic, satiristic and a short story writer. It his opinion that it has become an integral part of populist rhetoric in which every issue that arises in Pakistan is blamed on America. Paracha is the son of Farooq Paracha, who was a socialist journalist from the Attock District (Makhand) in the north of the Punjab. His father is faithful to the Pakistan People’s Party. Paracha received his early education in Kabul’s American school in Afghanistan from 1970 to 1974. He continued his education in Karachi Grammar School after his return in 1974 and completed his O levels in 1983. He did his bachelor’s in Commerce in 1986 from Saint Patrick’s college. His involvement in the political activities began from here with his involvement in the student’s political party, People’s Students Federation.He worked under the famous PSF leader in Karachi, Najeeb Ahmed. He was arrested a number of times for his anti government campaigns.
Paracha returned to Pakistan and joined the University of Karachi as a Masters student of Political Science in 1988. He vigorously resumed his political activities by joining the left-wing National Students Federation.
