Special Convoy of United Nations (UN) accepted that Myanmar’s army is involved in targeted sexual violence against Muslim Rohingya community. Pramila Patten made these comments after visiting Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh.
More than 610,000 Rohingya left their homes to find safety in Bangladesh’s already overpopulate refugee camps. Most of the women in Cox Bazaar’s refugee camp narrated stories of rape and gang rapes, many victims died in Myanmar.

Pramila Patten said that the rapes were ordered and supported by Myanmar’s army. ‘“My observations point to a pattern of widespread atrocities, including sexual violence against Rohingya women and girls who have been systematically targeted on account of their ethnicity and religion’ she added.
Many refugees are still stuck between the borders and are hiding in the jungles because they fear from the Myanmar army which is involved in ethnic cleansing of muslim minority.
