Karachi: The public referendum that was going to be held by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has been postponed from Thursday (November 8, 2012) to Wednesday (November 14, 2012), MQM Co-ordination Committee told sources. The decision has been taken citing the holding of IDEAS 2012 in the city.
According to MQM Rabta Committee, the DG Rangers asked to review the date of referendum as International Defence Exhibition and Seminar was going to held during the same days. The IDEAS 2012 is scheduled to be held from 7-12 November.
The Co-ordination Committee member told that DG Rangers asked to reconsider referendum’s date in a meeting with Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad the referendum.
The public referendum, aiming to get an idea what people of Pakistan wants, Taliban’s Pakistan or of Quaid-e-Azam?’ will now be held on 14th November.
