As the season of the Holy month- Dhu’l-Hijjah- arrives, which also brings a huge rush of animals on different Mawishi Mandi across the country but the animals are not cared properly. Similarly, Sohrab Goth in Karachi is one of the largest hubs for Mawishi Mandi in the country which is facing the worst condition nowadays.
According to local media reports, due to recent rustic rain animals especially cows are facing the worst conditions in Mawishi Mandi Sohrab Goth because of two major reasons; the Mandi is camped or established just for a temporary time period and secondly the lack of emergency arrangements such as rain.

The rain totally disturbed the Mandi Bazar, where security personals arrive and cordon off the area after the heavy rain and also ask the owners to delay the business until the next day where customers have been stopped from conducting any deal on the scarifies( Qurbani). The mud has engulfed the whole site of the Gai Mandi badly; it becomes difficult for customers to put their feet on the ground.
People, those who visited in Mandi for purchasing Qurbani, posted videos on Facebook, Twitter, and on other social media networks where they showed the worst condition of the Mawishi Mandi and the badly suffering animals.
Due to this worst condition of the Mandi, both customers and owners are facing the difficulties, instead of the government announced that there would be a single Mawishi Mandi in the city- Karachi- while there were approximately more than 6 Mandi established in the city Karachi-right now.
While on the other hand, mostly the cattle are being sold in street in a traditional way without any official check up of their health and condition.
