Matiullah Jan is a special correspondent anchor at waqt TV. He has stayed as an anchor and deputy Bureau chief at dawn News and is a correspondent for Reuters Consumer TV at Thomson Reuters Media Law and Policy Advisor at Internews Network. He was also Pakistan’s first print media journalist to move to on-camera TV reporting in Pakistan before the private media arrived in 2002.
Matiullah Jan had the privilege to work with the oldest and the most powerful state outlet in Pakistan, PTV. He produced news in English and Urdu languages and was the first resource person on contract in PTV to win PTV National Award of Best News Reporter from 1999 to 2000. He also anchored PTV’s News Morning Show and during his stay at PTV he was also able to win the British Chevening Award for the year 2001-02 to do masters in international journalism from London, UK
Matiullah was not far behind as a student either. He studied at the City University and did his internship at BBC World Urdu Service at Bush House London UK. He says it was an honour for him to be heard from BBC radio across the world. He has also worked with the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad for a year on European Desk. His Masters in Defence & Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University brought him to this Institute.
