Karachi: The leaders of more than 40 political and religious parties, lawyers, Ulema and traders hold Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) responsible for ongoing terrorism in the city. They demanded setting up of Shariat Courts and punishment to the criminals and accused in the light of Shariat courts verdict. The leaders further demanded the sacking of Sindh Governor and deployment of Rangers with full authorities. These demands were come forward during All Parties Conference (APC), organized by Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) at Idara-e-Noor Haq yesterday. In the conference, it was decided that a march would be brought to Islamabad for the restoration of peace in Karachi on 11 January adding an APC would be organized in Islamabad for the redressal of law and order issue in Karachi. The leaders also demanded of the Election Commissioner (EC) to ensure implement on SC verdicts over new delimitation and voters’ verification.
The All Parties Conference was presided by DPC chief Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, while General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Liaquat Baloch, Ameer Jamaat-ud-Dawa Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Ameer Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi, General (Retd) Hammed Gul, Shaikh Rasheed, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Mohammad Ashrafi, Aslam Ghauri, Ghous Ali Shah, Shamshad Ghauri of MQM-H, Nusrat Sahar Abbasi of PML-F, Syed Zia Abbas of National Democratic Party and others were also spoken on the occasion.
Naib Ameer JI Asadullah Bhutto, Ameer JI Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, Mufti Usman Yar Khan of JUI-S, Saleem Zia of PML-N and other were also present on the occasion. On the occasion, Maulana Sami-ul-Haq has said that the federal and provincial governments have failed to restore peace in the city.
“2500 people including target killers, extortionists and others criminals had been released according to NRO in which most were affiliated with MQM”, he added. He said that 7000 people have become prey to targeted killing incidents during last 4 years while extortion was on the rise and the people of the city are suffering from mental agony. “The transparent elections have become unavoidable for the restoration of lasting peace in the city”, he added.
JI General Secretary Liaquat Baloch said ‘Peace caravan’ is to be brought out for restoration of peace in the city. Baloch further added innocent citizens and political workers are being targeted in the targeted attacks on imambargahs, mosques, and Madrassah. He said all stake holders should sit together for creating lasting peace in the city adding bias attitude of government should be eliminated in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said long term political coalition is an only solution of the deteriorated law and order situation of the city. He requested Mian Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan should sit together for the sake of law and order situation of Karachi.
Ahmed Ludhianvi said long march from Karachi to Islamabad would be brought to restore peace in the city adding none of the political workers are saved from targeted killings.
“External powers should be unveiled in order to produce lasting peace in the city”, Ludhianvi added. On the occasion, Hameed Gul said the target killing incidents were on the rise for last 2 years adding entire city was in grip of lawlessness except NATO route.
Quoting the statement of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, in which he stated US, wants to break the country and they were with them, Gul demanded of the SC to take notice of the said statement of Altaf Hussain.
Shaikh Rasheed feared massive bloodshed during the tenure of interim government adding more people in the country particularly in Karachi are been died in targeted killings not in suicide attacks. “The situation even out of control from Pakistan Army” Shaikh added.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghous Ali Shah said PML-N will give support to any party which will play its role to restore law and order situation in the city, as the economy of the entire country depends on Karachi. He stressed upon the need to contest election jointly in front of failed parties and should reach to Parliament. “Present judiciary is the most honest and effective judiciary in the history of the country”, Shah added.
