LAHORE: While hearing the Haj-quota case today, Lahore High Court (LHC) issued contempt of court notices to Federal Minister Religious Affairs Khursheed Shah and Secretary of the ministry, local news channel reported on Friday.
Chief Justice LHC Umar Atta Bandial directed the ministry of religious affairs to allocate quota to the tour operators who fulfill the merit requirements. Furthermore, the chief justice said that the ministry should keep the in loop of the quota allocation procedure.
The quotas have still not been allotted to the tour operators despite the court ordered this before, LHC was informed at the start of the hearing on which is expressed displeasure.
