Islamabad: Biometric system will replace the old ink voting system in local body elections. This has been decided by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government, learnt the sources. During a press conference held, Imran Khan, the PTI Chief the governing party leader in the province said,’ the biometric system will come into effect to make the elections transparent’.
He said that the fingerprints tests for the respective voter would enable fair electoral process. He defied the old method of ink voting. Since there remain chances of cheating at all levels. He went on to say that the similar practice is witnessed in the Indian democratic State. No one ever has challenged the results, he added.
The PTI chief called the May elections as immense rigging. And called upon the government to verifying the thumb impressions in the rigging constituencies from the government. Pointing to the winning of his opposition leader, the National Assembly member Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in Lahore, Imran Khan said that verification by NADRA would scrutiny his status.
Imran demanded the same process for the elected candidates including senior Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and Sadiq Baloch. The bogus voting will be revealed through the verification. Hence it would be proved that how PTI’s mandate was stolen, stated Imran Khan.
