Karachi: Suspect suicidal attack may happen in the educational institutions of the city, informed the security agencies on Thursday sources have learnt. As per the details provided by the security agencies,suicide bombers from Waziristan have entered the metropolitan city. They might target the educational institutions with Karachi University being their primary target.
According to the Karachi University Security Campus sources , after receiving the news of the suspected attack, the university has been set on high alert with all the possible measures taken to prevent the attack.Hidden cameras and scanners have been installed at the entrance gates while the broken walls have been repaired.
Walls of the university facing the Gulzar-e-Hijri road were mostly found broken.For their repairing,the engineering department demanded worth Rs 38 million.However,Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Mohammed Qaiser got the walls repaired within a low budget of Rs 9 million.
It is worth mentioning here that two years back, bomb blast erupted at the central cafeteria of the university, resulting in injuries to more than 12 students who were busy offering their Zuhr prayers.
