Pakistan’s Junaid Khan grabbed four wickets as Lancashire beat Unicorns by eight wickets in Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club Ground on Sunday, according to our sports correspondent.
Unicorn won the toss and elected to bat first but. Left arm pacer Juanid Khan was the pick of the Lancashire attack as he finished with figures of four for 29 off 7.3 overs – all four victims being bowled. Unicorns were bowled out 179 in last over of innings. In reply Lancashire got over the winning line with 12 overs to spare.
Meanwhile at the Guildford Pakistan all rounder Yasir Arafat bagged a five wicket haul as Surrey defeated Warwickshire by three wickets. Warwickshire who chose to bat first after winning the toss posted 225/8 in allotted 40 overs. In reply Surrey cruised to three wickets win and strengthens their chance for semi finals.
In the other match of Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament Derbyshire (249 for 9) beat Kent (218) by 31 runs at Derby. Pakistan’s duo of Azhar Mahmood and Wahab Riaz took 4 and 3 wickets for Kent respectively.
