NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Security Forces have aimed at the hideouts of the foreign and local terrorists through jet fighters here on Saturday in which dozens of militants including Uzbeks, being associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, have been killed whereas five hideouts have been destroyed.
The operation Zarb-i-Azb is going on in North Waziristan against banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The Pakistan military is facing a little resistance by the terrorists in a few areas. The security forces have today used jet fighters against the militants in Miramshah and Boya village. The aerial bombardment by the jet fighters have killed dozens of foreign and local militants, who had challenged government’s writ in tribal region and were involved in attacking and killing security forces as well as innocent people. The bombardment destroyed five hideouts of the terrorists whereas large stocks of ammunition or bomb explosives were also destroyed.
On the other hand, the security forces have started sweeping or clearing mines from the areas, being hidden by the terrorists. Another Pakistani soldier has been martyred today as a mine blast when he ran over it.
According to sources, most of the militants that were killed in bombardment by the jet fighters were Uzbeks. The sources added that since the operation Zarb-i-Azb has started, over 400 militants, in which most of the terrorists were foreigners, Â have been killed whereas 19 factories which were making explosives have been discovered and destroyed in Miramshah. The sources further said that the security forces had also found literature and flags of various international militant organisations while the search operation was going on.
