Lahore: Under the special supervision of Prof. Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, head of Jamat ud Dawah, the IDPs will be provided with Eid packages worth a total of two Crore rupees, and food for one Lakh people will be arranged as well. Relief goods containing more than five thousand ration packs, thirty thousand suits for gents, ladies and children, five thousand sets of bangles, two thousand utensil sets, two thousand sets of bathroom accessories and other goods for the IDPs in Bannu have already been delivered from various cities.
Chairman FIF Pakistan, Hafiz Abdur Rauf and other central members of JuD will spend Eid-ul-Fitr in the affected areas. Moreover, numerous volunteers of JuD will take part in the distribution of relief goods that have been sent by the people of Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Islamabad, Multan, Karachi and other parts of the country. The people of Faisalabad donated generously for the IDPs, and a huge relief caravan worth one Crore and forty two Lakh rupees, including ration packs, toys for children, turbans for the elderly, prayer mats, stitched clothing, bangles for women, and other goods was delivered a few days ago. JuD and FIF have distributed food packs for twenty thousand families and it is planned that one month worth of food for another five thousand families will be distributed before Eid as well.
The medical teams of FIF have treated more than fifteen thousand patients and medicines worth lakhs have been arranged for them. JuD has also set up food points for pre-dawn and Iftar meals from where thousands of IDPs in Bannu, Lari Adda and other places have benefited.
Hafiz Abdur Rauf said that the North Waziristan IDPs should be remembered during Eid and they should not be abandoned as homeless individuals. The people of Waziristan are Islam-loving and patriotic. They have been welcomed by the locals in D I Khan, Bannu, Kiruk, and Kohat, just as the people of Madina welcomed the immigrants from Makkah during the Prophetic era.
