Lahore: Prof. Hafiz Saeed of Jamat ud Dawah has said that JuD has launched a large scale relief operation for the victims of Waziristan operation. An aid worth 0.5 million Rupees has been sent today, which will cater for two thousand families. Pre-dawn and Iftar meals for Ramadan will also be delivered to the affected areas. The whole nation is encouraged to donate wholeheartedly for assisting the IDPs. Relief goods are being delivered from different cities by JuD on daily basis.
Addressing a press conference at Chauburgi, Lahore, Prof. Hafiz Saeed claimed that the whole nation is a home to the IDPs, and JuD will aid them no matter where they want to settle. A huge caravan of relief goods for IDPs in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Kiruk and other areas, consisting of ten trucks, has left Lahore under the supervision of JuD. The aid includes wheat, rice, ghee, sugar, and other basic foodstuff. Other central members of JuD, including chairman FIF, Hafiz Abdur Rauf, Haji Javed-ul-Hasan and Yahya Mujahid, were also present in the press conference.
In his conversation with media personnel, Prof. Hafiz Saeed stressed that PM Nawaz Sharif should call an APC and bring all parties on the same page regarding national defense. The tribespeople of Waziristan are patriotic defenders of Pakistan, and have played significant roles in the freedom movement of Kashmir and Pakistan.
The nation is with their displaced brothers of Waziristan in these difficult times. Other parties from all segments of the society must reach out in helping the IDPs, as well. JuD has never left the victims of natural disasters unattended, and has worked to support the victims of Swat and Malakand in the past, as well. The current situation also demands similar acts of altruism.
He further said that JuD has given guidelines to its workers in cities nationwide, and has advised them to gather resources and aid for the displaced brethren from Waziristan. India and USA are working closely together to instigate the Pakistani society into rebellion and discord. Cooperation and unity among Pak Army, government institutions and the public on solid grounds will foil the plots of enemies. This operation must be limited to those elements only that are serving the foreign agenda of making Pakistan a battleground.
Hafiz Abdur Rauf, Chairman FIF, stated that FIF has also imitated a registration program for the IDPs and is preparing cooked food for them on regular basis. In the next phase, Ramadan meals will be delivered to the IDPs, as well. Furthermore, field hospitals with surgical units have been set up for the medical treatment of victims. JuD will never abandon the IDPs in their time of need during the crisis, until they are fully settled in their homes. He also said that JuD had started preparations for the relief process from the very first day of operation. Relief camps are active in Bannu, D. I. Khan, Lucky Marwat, Kiruk and Kohat. Water and food supply is being given special attention.
After Friday prayers at Masjid Al-Qadsia at Chauburgi, Lahore, Prof. Hafiz Saeed addressed a huge crowd. He said that foreign NGOs should not be allowed to spread anti-Islam or Pakistan agendas under the guise of relief activities. Ramadan may be a difficult period for the FIF teams, but they are up to the challenge. It is the responsibility of every Pakistani to donate for the IDPs and lend a helping hand to them, during these difficult times.
