Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a convention to be held on the 23rd of March 2014 at Nishtar Park. The convention will be held on Pakistan Day and has been dubbed ‘Youm-e-Tahafuz-e-Pakistan’. The event has been organized by Jamat-e-Islami Karachi wing and the public has been invited to gather at Nishtar Park in large numbers to show solidarity for the nation in these troubled times.
Jamat e Islami Chief Syed Munawar Hussain has also taken active part in inviting the public to this event through different media messages. He will also be addressing the gathering on the day of the event along with the senior minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Siraj Ul Haq and member of the Taliban Committee, Professor Ibrahim.
Jamat-e-Islam firmly believes that negotiating with the Taliban is the best solution to bring peace to the country and that the proper imposition of Islamic Shariat and true Islamic principles is necessary to deal with the issues of Pakistan.
Preparations are in full swing for the convention on 23rd March with Jamat-e-Islami leaders meeting with members of the business community and lawyers to try to get people from all walks of life to attend the convention. Posters and banners have been displayed in many areas of the city and pamphlets are also being distributed to create awareness while welcome tents have also been set up in many areas to publicize the event.
