GILGIT: The initial investigation report of four prisoners fled away from Gilgit jail has been released. It has been revealed in the report that the terrorists involved in Nanga Parbat incident fled away from the jail with the help of people inside the jail (police) and the terrorists were also provided with the pistols from inside the jail. IG jail has been suspended whereas 10 police constables have been taken into custody after the incident.
In the initial investigations, it has been said that the prisoners were helped from inside the jail to flee away, the barracks of the terrorists were locked however, they managed to flee. The investigations further say that the terrorists were given pistols from inside the jail too and they reached up to the front through upstairs and they jumped outside the jail over the wall. One terrorist was killed with the police firing whereas one terrorist was injured and arrested.
The report has further stated that FC, Gilgit Baltistan scouts and police were deployed in Gilgit jail. The IG jail was suspended whereas 10 police constables and 3 civilians were also taken into custody for investigation.
