New Delhi: Supreme Court of India issued a notice to a Bollywood hero Amitabh Bachchan on the request of Income Tax Department on Tuesday. They claimed that Bachchan have take loan for his show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in 2002-03 of Rs 1.66 crore. Income Tax Commissioner reopened the case of Amitabh during the granted relief in Bombay High Court in July 2012. I-Tax had also appealed against High Court in Supreme Court.
Big B has hosted the show Kaun Banega Crorepati five times since 2000. This show was on air only once under the hosting of Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan in third season.
According to media reports, the appeal filed by Income Tax Commissioner that the amount paid to the actor was a capital expenditure and taxable. Justices MS Sanlecha and SF Vajifdar upheld the orders of I-Tax
