Lahore: Unlike Pakistan Railways that continues to crumble non stop for the last several years owing poor government policies and officials’ corruption cases, Indian Railways makes another achievement as they now launch a new luxury train ‘Royal Rajasthan on Wheels‘ on Sunday.
According to the Indian media report, the newly launched luxury train will cover tourist destinations in three states and started its maiden journey from Safdarjung railway station in the capital yesterday.
‘Royal Rajasthan on Wheels’ regarded as India’s most luxurious train, is a joint venture between the Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (RTDC).
The train will run every Sunday between October and April from the Indian Capital and will pass through three states — Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
The extravagant new train consists of 35 coaches having a ferrying capacity of 82 passengers in one trip. It has on board a bath tub, gymnasium, specials suites, deluxe saloons and two restro-lounges which make the journey truly a ‘royal experience‘.
However, the journey costs the same as it provides lavish service costing $4,130 (Rs 2,14,760), one will have to shell out $1,600 (Rs 83,200) per day more if one travels in the special suite.
