Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that peace and tyranny could not co-exist, and added that India’s atrocities on the Kashmiris had prolonged the night of oppression in the valley and disturbed regional peace. Addressing a large Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said, whereas India was persistently denying the Kashmiris their basic rights, a handful of people were trying to befool the masses with the slogan of “Aman Ki Asha “with India. He said that with the establishment of peace and justice, peace would automatically prevail.
Syed Munawar Hasan further said that although the Federal Cabinet had restored NATO supplies completely ignoring the parliament unanimous resolution, there were reports in the press that the supplies had been suspended because of attacks on hundreds of containers. He appealed to truck/container drivers not to be a party to the unlawful supply of liquor, pork and arms to the enemy killing our own citizens and our Afghan brothers.
He said the nation wanted the rulers to review their decision and permanently stop NATO supplies. Lakhs of people had joined the rallies organized by the JI and the Defa e Pakistan Council against the restoration of the NATO supplies to express their sentiments. However, the corrupt and imprudent rulers were ready to provide complete security to the NATO supplies at their own cost.
Slating the statement of Internal Affairs Advisor, Rehman Malik that the long march against supplies restoration had failed, Syed Munawar Hasan challenged the Interior Advisor to lead a Long March apprising the nation of the benefits of restoring the supplies. He declared that the peaceful movement against the NATO supplies would continue till the rulers withdrew their decision.
The JI Ameer said according to the agreement being signed with Washington, Islamabad won’t charge transit fee for the NATO supplies and would also arrange complete security for these supplies at its own cost. He said this seemed to be an agreement of novel nature to ensure supplies to the enemy free of cost. He said the nation wanted to know all those who had secured personal ends under this secret deal.
He noted that price spiral and load shedding had buried the masses alive while electricity tariff had been raised once again. Syed Munawar Hasan impressed upon the people to strengthen their link with the Holy Quran, especially during the month of Ramadan, and also act upon its teachings so that we escaped the divine wrath like the previous nations who left the right path.
