Mumbai: The opening match of the ICC Women World Cup 2013 was played between India and West Indies. The hosts of the tournament start the tournament with a huge win of 105 runs. The Indian batters seem to be well prepared for the tournament.
The Indian team was asked to bat after the West Indian captain won the toss. The decision went against the West Indian side as the two openers played long innings and set a partnership of 175 runs. After the first wicket fell the 2nd wicket stand added a total of one less than 50. The top two partnerships took India in a decent total and the remaining players took the score to 284 for loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. The Indian innings includes the first century of the tournament by MDT Kamini.
At the run chase the West Indian team was shaky from the start and their half team returned to pavilion at the score of 84.
