Jammat-e-Islami Chief Syed Munawwar Hassan addressed a large congregation of women of JI at Idara-e Noor-e Haque on Tuesday.
While commenting on Kashmir Policy, Hassan rebuked Musharraf as he said that the later had deviated from the main target and had manifested his cowardice by bowing down his head to the United States President after 9/11. The prestige of the country and dignity of the nation was subjugated on just a single phone call.
He also regretted the role of the Parliament for passing a resolution for reviewing country’s foreign policy but failed to seek implementation on that resolution.
Pointing out the law and order situations in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Hassan said that Sindh government has on the pretext of reconciliation given the actual control to the terrorists and the tactics of blackmailing by the terrorists has been made a synonym of reconciliation, which is a straight insult to the public mandate. Conversely, the PPP-led government has also given a free hand to Awami National Party to on that condemned process of reconciliation.
While expressing his grave concern on Balochistan’s situation, the JI Chief said that while India has been busy in exploiting the unrest in Balochistan while using the soil of Afghanistan, the PPP-led government has turned a blind eye and remained silent on it.
On the economic issues of the country, he said that the policies that the government has adopted have ruined the country and led the country to bankruptcy. The affairs of the state are run with foreign aid while energy crises have crossed all limits of tolerance.
The NATO supply was suspended due to mounting pressure by the people of the country but now the government has been making all efforts to reverse the decision and restore the supply line, he said adding that the US wanted to downplay China and Iran and wanted to impose India as sole power in the region and to erase the Islamic norms and values from the country.
