Selangor, Malaysia: A meeting of the sub-committee of the International Foundation of Relief and Development (IFRD), comprising NGOs of different Islamic countries held on Monday in Selangor, Malaysia. The meeting was convened on the call of Dr Haleema, Minister for State, Malaysia and relief works being continued for Muslims in Burma were reviewed in the meeting.
The meeting was presided by Haji Ali Hussain, President IFRD and Chief of Amal Foundation, Malaysia while General Secretary IFRD Haji Afandi, General Secretary of Al-Khidmat Karachi Engineer Abdul Aziz, Assistant General Secretary of Al-Khidmat, Arif Noli Samget of Bait-ul-Mal Foundation, Indonesia, Taimul Karamola Ougili of Sada’at Party in Turkey, GS of Islamic Party of Malaysia Datu Haji Mustafa Ali, Shaukat Hussain, Director Acna Relief in Canada and other were participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the role of Muslim NGOs and their mutual co-ordination in order to provide relief goods to the deprived and less privileged people was under discussion. It has been decided, during the meeting that to ensure provision of relief goods to the affected people at international level from the platform of IFRD.
It is pertinent to mention here that the establishment of IFRD with a view to provide assistance goods to the affected Muslims in the time of need or any natural calamity.
