Most of the citizens in Pakistan watch and read the news regarding road accidents in all over the country on daily basis, cause several killings and injuries. But most of people didn’t know the exact figure of killings caused by the road accidents daily in Pakistan. Statistics of road accidents in the last 10 years in Pakistan have presented a horrible view, according to which around 15 people are killed in road accidents every day, in all over the country. The highest death tolls in the recorded in the province of Sindh, on average.
The biggest province of Pakistan, Punjab stands after Sindh in road accidents average, while Balochistan and KPK are on the third and fourth number respectively. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the ratio of statistics in Sindh during 2004 to 2013, is recorded 86 percent, while the ratio in all over the country is recorded 55 percent. The figures are recorded by the experts of traffic in Pakistan.
51416 people have been killed in 97730 road accidents, in all over the country from 2004 to 2013, according to the statistics.
In Punjab, 51715 road accidents have been recorded during this period, which took 29524 innocent lives. 13965 road accidents have been recorded during this period and 9639 people have been killed. In KPK, 27939 accidents have been recorded which took 9494 people, while 4085 road accidents occurred in Balochistan and 2250 people were killed. Out of the total number of accidents in all over the country, 43582 were major accidents, 47.4 percent of the total number.
If the ratio of per incident killing is calculated during these 10 years, it is 55 percent. Similarly the ratio of injuries per incident occurs as 125 percent. Road accidents, killings and injuries were recorded highest in Punjab province and 52 percent incidents took place in Punjab. According to the statistics, road accidents in Sindh province are lower than the other provinces but the number of killings is recorded as the highest.
As compared to Sindh, the number of incidents took place in KPK during 10 years is high, but the killings were recorded lower than Sindh. Ratio of injuries per incident recorded as 127 in KPK province. Road accidents recorded in Balochistan are lowest than all the provinces where ratio of injuries per incident is recorded as 130, second number after Sindh.
