Karachi: Hizb-ut-Tahrir (Party of Liberation) Pakistan staged a protest outside the Uzbekistan diplomatic mission in Islamabad on Wednesday against the atrocious killing of its member Shawkat Karimov under the brutal regime of Islam Karimov, the President of Uzbekistan, press statement told.
According to the press release, the demonstrators were holding banners and placards declaring “Oh Karimov! Arrests, torture and killings of sincere Muslims of Uzbekistan cannot stop the establishment of Khilafah and consequently your end.” “Stop! Extra Judicial Killings of Muslims,” it demanded.
The deceased was sentenced to jail in 1999 after which he was intentionally shifted to Tuberculosis affected persons’ prison cell in 2002. He died there on 27th Ramadan as he also got infected of the disease, statement informed.
The demonstrators shouted slogans against the killing of its member and anti President Statements were also heard. They handed over the condemnation letter from Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilaya Pakistan to Uzbek diplomatic mission. The participants dispersed peacefully in the end.
