Afghanistan is a country that is continuously in a state of war from the 20th century. The country is considered as the confluence of highways of Asia. Afghanistan is also known as the grave yard of empires, as the afghan people have defeated many empires that include the British Empire, Mongols and the communists.
When Russia attacked Afghanistan in 1979, to repel the communist the neighboring country Pakistan in that was ruled by Dictator Zia-Ul-Haqq trained the tribal men from Pak-Afghan border to fight Russia. These people were trained on an emotional basis. Many foreign Mujahideen also joined them who were later named as Al-Qaeda. Both the foreign and local Mujahideen fought Russia, with the support of American weaponry and some of Pakistan armed forces.
Later on the local Pak-Afghan fighters who were known as Mujahideen as they fought for Islam selected Mullah Muhammad Umar as their leader. The Pak-Afghan fighters were later on named as Taliban as all of them took Mullah Umar as their leader.
After the US attack on Afghanistan on 7th October 2001many of the Afghan people migrated to Pakistan and the local tribal people of Pakistan welcomed them and gave them shelter. Later on, when America started their drone attacks on these tribal areas as it was the main base of Taliban and Al-Qaeda, it resulted in many civilian casualties.
According to a former British Journalist Yvonne Ridley the TTP (Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan) were formed in result of those American drone attack. These people are mostly the relatives of the affected ones by drone strikes.
