Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) has banned two universities of Karachi which are Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education & Sindh Institute of Management & Technology (SIMT).
A conditional and temporary ban is also imposed on Ilma University, previously known as Institute of Business & Technology.
The ban was imposed through notifications which warned students from not taking admissions in these universities because HEC will not recognize or accept the degrees of these universities.
The reason behind the ban was opening of illegal campuses, mi smanagement and not meeting the standards of HEC in academic activities. These irregularities resulted in a ban after which students of these universities are worried about their future.
